I wanted to share a vision / message I received from my spirit support to help me remember why I use and create physical goods, even in a world of material excess…

Why I prefer to write by hand rather than online most of the time, even though I want to “reduce waste”1

You sit atop the tree stump - unable to stop change or destruction, but as an extension of life and new potential.

The (FSC Certified) paper at your hand is an offering from the trees to us - to remember this cycle.

From their felled bodies as pages and from the oxygen we breathe everyday, we are physically present with the reciprocity we must remember.

True sustainability starts with you.2

There is no part of you or another that the Earth won’t support…

…a belonging so deep, that all doubt & destruction creates rebirth.

Space for new growth, like the sprouts and fungi at the base of decaying trees…

Offer your fears, your doubts, your analyses onto our processed skin laid bare for you.

Print/Paper is a portal into presence;

into grounding guidance and rooted remembrance.

Paper supports us to slowing into the sensory.

Print is a pathway to place,

reconnecting us to creator & provider

Print is a practice

of patience & purpose -

trusting that even the parts of you/life you don't want to face,

deserve space to be witnessed on the page.

Thanks for being here,

Rachael Amber +

Is it really waste if it’s something bringing us closer to embodiment and therefore being a well and wakeful ally to the Earth? Is it really waste if it’s not mass-produced, but consciously self-published in small batches with carefully chosen materials?

To clarify, this isn’t meant as a version of “you have to do all these things right to be an ethical, environmentally friendly human” that puts pressure on the people instead of the corporations and governments committing eco-genocide…

This is a reminder that what matters alongside all else, is this deep remembrance…
