The revolutionary energy from this Aquarius New Moon at the start of Aquarius Season is an invitation to envision what is possible for you and your community – what shared goals can you create with the people you care about? Which global issues matter to you and how do you envision yourself being part of the solution?

The Aquarius New Moon takes place on January 21, 2023
at ~3:53pm ET in the element of Air.

Beautiful beings, hello! Valencia here! You may recognize my name as the Community Care + Customer Support Administrator for our lovely Cycles Journal team <3

Thank you for being here, and thank you to Rachael for passing over our bi-monthly moonletter musings as she devotes time to some exciting new creations in store for 2023.

Speaking of 2023, now that we are fully settled into January - with February on the horizon - it truly feels like a new *Gregorian calendar* year. I probably feel this way because it’s Aquarius season. Aquarius is a fixed sign, so I attribute that energy to the new year finally feeling “established.”

With the first new moon of the year being in the sign of Aquarius, there is an invitation to imagine greater possibilities and embrace the emergence of new chapters. Visionary vibes, for sure!

I welcome you to envision new possibilities for yourself, your home, and your community. Visualize what true collaboration could look like with building those possibilities in this season of your life.

With the start of Aquarius season, I invite you to get curious about “what would better look like” from a beautifully radical, liberating perspective.

The Aquarius archetype is one that always fascinates me, as the energy is often associated with radical individuality, a strong will, and originality. At the same time, Aquarius is a sign of collaboration, mentality, and community/society.

Aquarius is symbolized by the Water-Bearer, revitalizing the cosmos with an overflowing vase. The image of an overflowing vase paired with the qualities of Aquarius reminds me of the Three of Cups in tarot and the idea of pouring into another person’s cup from a space of abundance and friendship.

Aquarius, as an Air sign that rules the Star card of hope, understands that initiating innovative ideas is essential to plant a seed of societal change. Aquarius also understands that the best way for that seed to flourish is through collaboration and beloved community.

With this in mind, we can consider what expansion might look like for ourselves and our greater society.

Here are some prompts to pull cards for or journal about (or both!) to help you plant intentions around where you feel guided to expand this lunar cycle.

No matter how your personal astrology interacts with these signs, it’s a good time to reflect on these themes of initiating new possibilities, collaboration, and community.

  • Which area(s) of my life could use improvement?
  • How can I practice radical self-acceptance while I work on achieving my goals?
  • What is my current balance between having social engagement and having social boundaries? How does that feel for me?
  • What shared goals can I create with people I care about? (e.g., fitness goals with my partner, quality time with my family, etc.)
  • Which global issues matter to me, and how do I envision myself being part of the solution?

As always, take your time answering and reflecting upon these questions – you can revisit them throughout the year and beyond this new moon.

And if you haven’t already, embrace the energy of friendship, unique conversations, and fresh energy by joining our virtual community space! Cyclical Community is an intentional community space where we can all come together on our journeys of inner healing & cycle awareness to support one another and grow our collective empowerment.

Speaking of community, in February we'll be looking for people to feature inside of next year’s Cycles Journal.

If you’re feeling called to share your wisdom with this community in print, spotlighted in-journal via our Featured Collective and/or HRD, please make sure you're on the waitlist to get notified when this limited opportunity opens up next month!

This opportunity to collaborate in reciprocity with us in this special way only comes around once a year – and we always look forward to it with gratitude as it makes this independent publication truly possible, and brings a beautiful web of change-makers together. :)

Let’s connect and create new possibilities for the life and the world we want together <3

With Gratitude,

Valencia & Team Cycles Journal
